CURRENTLY: April Edition

Happy April!
Easter is right around the corner and so is my dreaded end to maternity leave, but I am still excited for all the fun this month will bring. Today I'm joining the CURRENTLY link up hosted by Anne from In Residence.

ACCOMPLISHING | Getting some blog posts together to share with you all. I'm trying! Seriously, there are so many things I want show you, so I'm just waiting for a good day to photograph!

FEELING | Sad, anxious, nervous. A week from today I have to go back to work, which means my days at home snuggling my sweet boy are numbered. It's back to work and the start of day care. My mama heart is hurting, but I know it will all be alright once we get into our groove.
WORKING MOMS: any tips on how you managed to deal with the transition would be greatly appreciated!

NEEDING | A couple more hours in a day, but doesn't everyone? I seriously have no idea how some moms do it! Beautiful women who have perfectly dressed children and fun activities planned for them in their perfect looking houses and spotless kitchens where they make extravagant meals for their families all while working full time and still making time for their husbands, bubble baths, and face masks. Haha, but seriously, I'm lucky if my coffee is warm, me and my baby are dressed on the same day, the dishes are done, and we ate dinner. Who's with me?

PRACTICING | My sewing skills. I can sew a straight mostly straight line, but anything else you can pretty much forget it. I did get a new sewing machine for Christmas and I am finally testing it out and making a couple fun projects with it. So far, I am loving it and it is making me want to sew all the things!

PINNING | This triple melon salad from Family Circle which looks and sounds amazing! It is definitely a must-try this Spring or Summer. Michigan has had a little glimpse into what warmer weather feels like, but I am ready for the real thing!

CURRENTLY: March Edition

Well friends, I sure bet you're surprised to see me! I've finally made it out of hibernation and decided to join in for the CURRENTLY link up hosted by Anne from In Residence.

WATCHING | Sooo many things. I'm currently on maternity after having my sweet baby boy and I'm watching all the things. Lipstick Jungle, Person of Interest and Schitt's Creek on Netflix, as well as all my regular weekly favorites. My newest love interest is Big Little Lies. I read the book last winter and was beyond excited to hear it was turned into a TV show. Needless to say, I have not been disappointed with the first two episodes.

EATING | I've been trying to eat healthier lately, but I am obsessed with these dark chocolate covered sea salt caramels from Aldi. Yes, they really are as good as they sound and I just can't quit them.

SAYING | How quickly my maternity leave is flying by. I've had six weeks off already, and six weeks more to go. To say that I am absolutely not ready to go back would be an understatement.

WEARING | Yoga pants or leggings every single day... the life of a new mom! My best friend sent me my first pair of LuLaRoe leggings and they are pretty amazing.

POSTING | My first blog post in a long while, and hoping there is more to come in the near future.

CURRENTLY: September Edition

While welcoming the month of September (one of my favorites!) , I am joining In Residence for her monthly CURRENTLY link up.

READING | Smoke by Catherine McKenzie. She is one of my favorite authors and this book has been on my reading list since it came out. Luckily, my sweet sister gave it to me as a birthday gift.

TRYING | To contain my excitement for decorating Baby M's nursery for at least a little bit longer. I have so many ideas in my head and I want to just jump on it and have all my ideas come to life. However, I am reminding myself that it's still early and I really want to take my time to create the perfect space.

HOPING | For some cooler fall weather! It is September, but temperatures in Michigan today ate still hanging out in the 90's today. I am so ready for sweater weather, warm beverages, and curling up with a blanket to watch football.

DECORATING | For FALL! While I spend most of my time searching for nursery inspiration, I am most definitely tackling the fall home decor this weekend.

TO-DO LISTING | I currently have a "Before Baby To-Do's" List. This list includes many baby projects, as well as painting the guest room, painting our trim white throughout the house, and possibly getting new carpet. And as we get farther along, the list just keeps on getting longer.

CURRENTLY: March Edition

Happy March, everyone! As I write this post, I am staring out my window at the mass amounts of snow that Michigan has once again been given. Second blizzard-like snow storm in a week and I'm just over here like "Where is Spring?" If I'm being honest, I really do love a good snow storm. However, this past weekend we got another small taste of Spring and now I am definitely craving it!

In other news, I have accepted my first OT position and I am so nervous/excited to start! With my days of lounging around the house coming to an end, I am appreciating them more and more. I have a whole list of things I'd love to accomplish before heading back to work, so we'll see how much I manage to get done.

I have also been reading like a crazy person and highly recommend the books I've finished so far:
Big Little Lies, The Girl on the Train, and The Husband's Secret. Also, if you're a fan of Veronica Mars, I read those two books as well and they were awesome!
If you are on GoodReads, let me know, I'd love to be friends!

While welcoming the month of March, I am joining In Residence and Gold & Bloom for their monthly CURRENTLY link up.

WISHING | For SPRING! I want to crack open my windows, burn lemon scented candles, take long walks/runs outdoors, and spend my evenings in the backyard with my husband manning the grill. I want to trade in my boots for cute flats and my sweaters for light shirts with colorful scarves.

CRAVING | JIMMY JOHN'S. Guys, I've been craving Jimmy John's for days. I have a feeling it's one of those cravings that will only go away if I give in to the craving, and I do very much so intend to give in.

GOING | Back to work. After passing my boards and being off work for so long, I am finally starting my career in a short week and a half! Because of my new job, we have no vacation plans in the near future, but camping season is right around the corner.

WEARING | My days have been spent wearing sweats, and I really can't complain. However, as mentioned above, I am ready for my spring wardrobe.

LEARNING | To spend less time wishing for things I don't have and more time enjoying the things right in front of me. I am beyond blessed and really need to focus my attention on the things I have been blessed with. Life is good!

CURRENTLY: February Edition

If you were to run into me on the street and asked me what I am currently up to, I would answer "absolutely nothing!" As I still search for my first job as an occupational therapist, my days are a little... uneventful. However, if you were to keep talking to me, I may reveal that on top of applying for every OT job under the sun, I have completed my first round of the 21 Day Fix, I have finally found the time to paint my buffet (click here), and I started organizing my home using the KonMari method.

So in reality, during this strange life transition, I have found plenty of ways to keep myself busy. And I've got to say, I'm really trying to enjoy all this free time as much as I possibly can while I have the chance.

While welcoming February, I am joining In Residence and Gold & Bloom for their monthly CURRENTLY link up.

SENDING | I love sending out goodies this time of year, but haven't decided what I want to make this year. In the past I've sent out popcorn mix, crochet coffee sleeves, and sugar scrub.

EATING | Double Chocolate Chip Cookies. I can across this recipe a few months ago and fell in love with these cookies. Well, I didn't have any cranberries this past week, so I decided to swap them out for milk chocolate chips, instead. I can't decide which version I like better!

DREAMING | Of a bathroom remodel. We have been talking about painting and swapping a few things out like light fixtures and hardware. So, I've been on Pinterest oohing and ahhing over new bathrooms.

SMELLING | Chalky Hearts. I found a valentine's day Yankee Candle at TJ Maxx years ago that I became obsessed with I have been able to find one just about every year since then and love burning it in February, it smells just like those chalky hearts. Speaking of chalky hearts, you should check out this sugar scrub recipe.

HEARTING | Reading. Now that I have a little extra free time, I have been spending less time Netflx-ing and more time reading. I have been reading the Veronica Mars books, and I heart them for sure. If you were ever a fan of the show, I highly recommend reading them!

CURRENTLY: January Edition

I can't believe I almost forgot to write my CURRENTLY post for January! Life has been incredibly crazy for me lately. I have transitioned from being a full-time student and working part-time to graduating to studying for my boards. I am in this weird transition between Occupational Therapy Student and Occupational Therapist. While I have been studying for my boards and applying for jobs, I feel incredibly busy yet full of free time all at once. And now that the holidays are over, I am really starting to feel the change as everyone else heads back to "normal" and I'm still trying to figure out what exactly "normal" is for me in this crazy stage of life.

Anyway, I am excited to see what 2016 has in store for me and where exactly I'll end up in my new career.

While welcoming January, I am joining In Residence and Gold & Bloom for their monthly CURRENTLY link up.

RESOLVING | To become fit and healthy. Yes, I know, me and every other person you ask. BUT, I have started the 21 Day Fix and determined to make a change for real. I'm only 3 days in, but so far so good! I'll try to keep you updated on my progress.

READING | To be honest, I haven't read for enjoyment in a loonnnng time. As I finish up my studying, I am hoping to find some time to indulge in a good book. I have always enjoyed reading, but it's been the last thing on my mind throughout grad school. I got The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up for Christmas, so that is #1 on my list.

ORGANIZING | I have slowly but surely been going through my entire home to get rid of all my junk and organize the things I am keeping. I really need to minimize as much as possible because we are running out of room in this house of ours. I'm hoping The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up helps me out with this a little bit.

LOVING | Days spent at home, with my husband and puppy, while curled up on the couch watching Friends.

CRAVING | Pizza! A Jet's Pizza commercial came on earlier and now I can't stop thinking about it. Well done, Jet's marketing team, well done!

CURRENTLY: December Edition

Hello, December. I am SO, SO happy to see you. Nothing makes me happier than spending the month in a home full of Christmas ornaments, Christmas music, and Christmas coffee mugs.

While welcoming December, I am joining In Residence and Gold & Bloom for their monthly CURRENTLY link up.

WISHING | I would really love for our December to be filled with snow. Living in Michigan, I feel that it should be a requirement the whole month long. I'm dreaming of a white Christmas for sure!

REMEMBERING | How much I enjoy pulling out the must-watch Christmas DVD's and reciting each and every word.

WRAPPING | I haven't started any Christmas wrapping yet, but I am thinking it would be fun to wrap with brown paper bags and some fun ribbon. I also love all the adorable chalkboard gift tags, maybe this will be the year I fancy up my wrapping skills.

BAKING | I haven't even started to think about Christmas baking yet, but I am dying to try a recipe I received from a friend for Cinnamon Almonds. Since they are made in the crockpot, I feel like you can't really classify it as baking, but close enough, right?

DECORATING |  Our home! A full Christmas home tour will be on the blog soon, and I can't wait to show it off!

Happy December!
I hope each and every one of you enjoys this most wonderful time of the year.

CURRENTLY: November Edition

I love the sense of thankfulness that comes with November. While I wish more people realized how blessed they are throughout all months of the year, it is truly uplifting to hear and see the kindness and appreciation that fills the month of November.

While welcoming November, I am joining In Residence and Gold & Bloom for their monthly CURRENTLY link up.

COOKING | I love when the weather becomes cooler and it is finally acceptable to make soups. My favorite is this Tomato, Basil, & Parmesan Soup. It is insanely delicious!

PLANNING | A study schedule for when I graduate in December and officially have to take my boards (hopefully in January!). As much as I don't want to think of studying for 5 weeks straight, I am so close to the end of my Master's program and it is so exciting!

SMELLING | Seasons Blessing scented Yankee Candle, it is one of my all time favorites!

APPRECIATING | Spending a relaxing day at home. Life has been hectic lately and I am very appreciative of the days I am able to spend at HOME, cuddled up with my husband and my dog.

ANTICIPATING | All things CHRISTMAS! Christmas decorations, Christmas music, Christmas shopping, and Christmas gatherings. I have already picked up a few Christmas items and just ordered a few more from TJ Maxx. Christmas will be here before you know it, and I am so excited!

Happy November!

CURRENTLY: October Edition

I can't believe it's already October! Over the years, October has become my favorite month. I love that the cooler days means relaxing and spending more time at home, while hearing the cheerleaders, band, and football announcers at the high school football game.

While welcoming September, I am joining In Residence and Gold & Bloom for their monthly CURRENTLY link up.

EATING | I just bought my first caramel apple of the season and ate it this evening. It was delicious, and I can't wait to have a few more this month. Also a new favorite this fall, Apple Cider Slushies from our local Apple farm.... Yummm.

EXPLORING | Apple farms, corn mazes, and local-ish cider/wineries this weekend.

WEARING | Sweatpants, sweatshirts, and slippers while lounging on the couch every night. #noheattilnovember is in full effect around here.

ADMIRING | All of the beautiful fall home tour posts popping up in my new feed the past few weeks. I feel like no matter how hard I try, my home just doesn't meaure up, but I sure do enjoy seeing them!

COLLECTING | NEUTRAL pillows for the living room. I decided to brighten things up a bit, and I am never turning back! Yummm.

Happy October!

CURRENTLY | September Edition

Well... Hello September!
I don't know about all of you, but I am so excited for Fall! Pumpkins, crocheting, and CMU football are just a few of my favorite things about September.

While welcoming September, I am joining In Residence and Gold & Bloom for their monthly CURRENTLY link up.

READING | I'm not reading anything right now, but I've got three books on my Amazon wish list that I am dying to read: Lovable Livable Home, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, and The Nesting Place.

MAKING | I've been working on recreating and adding to my M Wall lately. On the to-do list today is to create some neutral decor for my living room. Also, I have my hubby hard at work on building me some wall shelves that I am eager to stain and hang.

PINNING | Neutral living rooms and all things Fall decor.

ANTICIPATING | Cooler weather... only slightly cooler though, I'm not quite ready for winter or anything. Last week we had weather in the 50's and 60's and it was glorious, although quite a tease considering today we are expecting temps in the 90's.

LOVING | Relaxing mornings at home. I spent an entire hour this morning sipping coffee on the couch and scrolling Pinterest. It was amazing!

Have a great rest of your week!

CURRENTLY #3

It's the first Wednesday of the month, and I'm linking up with In Residence and Gold & Bloom for another CURRENTLY post.

These next few weeks I am trying to seriously embrace change. I have been an OT student for 2 years and have worked at my current job for nearly 4 years. In the matter of a week and a half, I am finishing school, quitting my job, and saying goodbye to my classmates and coworkers all at once. I am starting on my next adventure as an occupational therapy intern in an outpatient rehab clinic. To say I'm nervous is an understatement, but I'm also pretty darn excited.

Here is what else I've been up to lately...

Designing: Budget printables for my new budget binder. I start fieldwork next week which means I will no longer have an income. No second income = one strict budget for us.

Enjoying: This beautiful weather and the great outdoors! I love hearing the birds chirping and sleeping with the windows open :)

Ordering: My Occupational Therapy Quick Reference Dictionary.

Celebrating: The end of the school year and finishing the last of my classes for my masters program! I have 6+ months of fieldwork ahead of me and then I'll be graduating!

Tasting: Vodka and sparkling water, my new favorite cocktail. Low cal, low cost, and so many flavors to choose from!

CURRENTLY #2

Reading: Blog Posts! I finished Gone Girl a few weeks ago and haven't had the chance to pick up a new book to read yet.

Writing: School papers... oh the life of a student.

Creating: A yellow nightstand! I can't wait to finish it and show it off soon!

Watching: Black List. We were behind by quite a few episodes, so we've been catching up the last few days.

Listening: To the sounds of the Pac Man game that has taken over Google Maps.

Needing: Some motivation to work out. It just hasn't been happening lately.

Feeling: Stressed. So many things to do in the next few weeks to wrap up the semester.

Wanting: A week long beach vacation!

Loving: I've got to say, Target's Dollar Spot is STILL high on my list. They suck me in every time, but look at all of this adorable office supplies!

Drinking/Eating: OCULTO! It's a new beer that is aged in tequila barrels and it is delicious!

Currently

Reading: Gone Girl! I'm only about 100 pages in so please don't ruin it for me.

Writing: My very first CURRENTLY post. I've been seeing these all over the blogging world and love them, so I figured why not.

Creating: Coffee sleeves like crazy! I also have a few Valentine's Day projects in the works :)

Watching: Married at First Sight. People think I'm crazy, but I'm hooked!

Listening: To my girl Taylor Swift. I just recently bought her new album, and it is my JAM!

Needing: To organize this house! It has been on my to-do list for weeks. I planned to do it over my winter break, but Netflix and crocheting seemed like a much better idea.

Feeling: Sore. I ran today for the first time in a while and my legs are definitely feeling it.

Wanting: A day between Sunday and Monday. Seriously, if I had one more day at home during the week, I feel like my life would be so much less hectic and much more productive... or I would just binge-watch more Netflix.

Loving: Target's Dollar Spot! They have so many cute things it is impossible to say no when they are only a dollar. If I buy one more magnetic note pad, I may need an intervention.
