A Spring Vignette

This year, I decided to bypass the St. Patrick's Day decorating and head straight for the Springtime decor. Although there is a whole lot of green, so that counts right?
I love creating new vignettes... it is my JAM! I love playing around with the pieces I have and rearranging them until everything is just so. In case you haven't noticed, things in my home don't stay in one place for long.

This vignette was pretty simple because I left a few things in place from Valentine's Day. I just swapped out the pinks and reds for some greens and wah lah... a whole new look!

Source list is at the bottom of this post.

Do you have a space in your home that you are constantly changing?

Spring Vignette

After my post on Monday, I am beyond excited to show off my Spring Vignette!
I literally purchased nothing for this decor, using only what I had on hand
(except for a $1.50 bag of split peas because I ran out

This vignette was so easy to make, anyone could try something similar.
But enough chatter already... here it is:

Source List:
White ceramics: TJ Maxx
Mason Jars: Redneck Wine Glasses
Split Pea Decorative Balls
Burlap Ribbon: Hobby Lobby
(I made the Split Pea Wreath the same way I made the Split Pea Decorative Balls)
Golf Ball Rabbits: TJ Maxx

Hope you enjoy this simple but stylish Burlap and Split Pea Vignette!
Happy Friday!

Shamrock Burlap Bunting

March means packing away all the pink and decorating with all things green.
While searching for gold polka-dotted burlap, I came across this shiny shamrock burlap at Joann's on sale this weekend and knew it would be the perfect addition to my St. Patrick's Day decor.

This project took me about 15 minutes to cut the triangles, glue them to twine, and hang it on my shelf. The result is better than I had imagined!

I've also been working on creating my St. Patrick's Day Vignette.
Can't wait to show you what I've come up with!

Does anyone else decorate for St. Patrick's Day?

Happy HUMP Day!
Tomorrow is my Friday, thank goodness! So excited for my three day weekend!

Fall Burlap Bunting

I was itching to make some sort of fall decor this weekend, so I raided my craft supplies to see what I could make. I found a pile of burlap from way back when and my leftover jute from my Jute Monogram Wreath. I decided it would be fun to make a burlap bunting banner.

I used Chicabug's free fabric bunting pattern to make my banner. I loved that it had 4 different sizes to use, because I wasn't exactly sure how big I wanted mine at first. I used hot glue to put my bunting banner together and hung it up in my dinette.

I decided it was too plain-jane and wasn't exactly what I had envisioned, so I went back to my craft supplies and found some red and orange ribbon and hot glued strips of both colors to each of the burlap pieces. When I hung it up for a second time, I was much happier with my final product. It is the perfect touch to my "mantle shelf" and looks great with my burlap and lace hurricanes!

The best part about this project? It cost me absolutely nothing to make!
It is great to know that I used all things I had on hand and created something fun to look at, instead of all the supplies just sitting in my basement taking up space.

Has anyone else ever made something with just supplies they already had on hand? If not, I am challenging you to do so. It is so much fun!

Burlap Rosette Heart Wall Decor

I have been wanting to post this for weeks now, but holy burlap rosettes, this took forever to finish!
Let's just say, I had burlap flowers coming out of my ears. Finally, this week I enlisted Adam, my currently injured and awaiting surgery husband, to cut the burlap so I could focus on gluing. This was a hugggee help! And thanks to his help, I present to you (finally) my Burlap Rosette Heart wall decor!

in order to make this, you will need:
beadboard, paint, burlap, hot glue gun

The project overall was simple, just time consuming. I swung by home depot one day and bought a piece of bead-board  I had them cut it to size right in the store so I could get working on it right when I got home. I used photoshop to create a heart outline that would be big enough for my 40inx30in piece of bead-board  I traced the heart onto the board using pencil.

Once my heart was traced, I painted everything but the heart form navy blue using a foam brush.

Then came the fun part...making the rosettes out of burlap. I bought 3 yards of burlap, and had a little left over. I used my hot glue gun to make the rosettes, and to adhere them to the bead-board.

We used 3M strips (the ones that hold up to 16 lbs) to pin it up on our wall.

It is great to finally have something up on those poor living room walls!

And note to self (and others I suppose): don't mix burlap, even if you think it isn't noticeable! I started with some burlap I had lying around in the basement, then ran out and had to buy more. I didn't think it was very noticeable, but I can definitely tell in these pictures. blahhh.

Well, what do you think? Did anyone else notice the random mismatched burlap (before I mentioned it)? Adam claims I'm the only one that can tell.
