The Wedding Day: Before The Ceremony

The day started bright and early, especially after staying up so late the night before (out of town guests + bar + karaoke= bad idea late night for the bride and groom). I woke up at 8:00 a.m. and jumped in the shower before heading to the salon for hair and makeup. My wonderful mommy made my favorite breakfast: coffee cake, and us girls ran around the house singing "Going to the chapel and we're.... gonna get married"

We met the rest of the bridal party at the salon at 10:00, and the pampering began. I got my makeup done first, and then my hair as I sat in the chair smiling like a bride on her wedding day, crazy right? Once everyone was beautified, we headed on our way. I was dying to see how my centerpieces turned out after my grandma, aunts, and cousin set them up for me, so we stopped at the reception hall on the way home. I had a minor freak out when I realized the cake was still not there, but it was short lived when my cake lady came walking in right at that moment. PHEW! I also managed to get a picture of the sign out front with our picture on it as we were leaving. 

When we arrived home, we ate a quick lunch, the girls got dressed, gathered our things and headed to the church. Up until this point, we were right on schedule, but then we fell a half hour behind and I began freaking out. Needless to say, I wasn't a very pleasant bride on the car ride to the church.

When we got to the church, everything just fell into place. I slipped on my dress and accessories, drank some wine, and relaxed with my ladies. Adam got ready at the hotel with his parents and groomsmen. He was on time and was actually waiting for me to arrive at the church so he wouldn't be there before me. I received word that Adam arrived shortly after, and my flower girl delivered a sweet note from my groom.

We didn't have a lot of time between the ceremony and reception to take pictures, so we decided to take pictures of the girls and pictures of the guys before the ceremony (separately of course). The girls went first, and once I was safely tucked away, the guys headed out for pictures.

I peaked through the curtains in the bridal room and watched as guest after guest was seated. Before I knew it, the bridal party left to line up and I stayed behind with my parents, waiting for my grand entrance.

14 Weeks Old!

At fourteen weeks, Lucy is now big enough to climb up on the couch by herself, and we don't mind because she is a great cuddle-bug. The picture below is Lucy trying to bite the camera... Adam insisted I post it

Happy Halloween!

We hope everyone is enjoying their Halloween night!

We decorated the house, put on our costumes, and waited for all the trick-or-treaters to come, and by all I mean thirteen of them. Needless to say, the rest of our night will be spent drinking Witches Brew, eating the leftover candy, and watching Hocus Pocus. 

Tutorial: BOO Sign

Here is my BOO sign that has been hanging on my front door for most of October. I have been wanting to post this for quite some time now, but then life happened, so I am just now getting around to it, but I am really happy with the way it turned out! 

What you will need:

Wooden Letters (I got mine at Hobby Lobby)

Scrapbook Paper

Mod Podge

Ribbon

Scissors

Paint

Start by tracing your letters onto the back of your scrapbook paper and cutting them out.

(and remember to trace the letters backwards too!)

Once your letters are traced, you may choose to paint your letters. I do this to cover the edges and make sure no wood will be visible.

Then comes the Mod Podge. First, put a thin layer directly onto the letters and place the scrapbook paper on top. Once that is completely dry, add a coat of mod podge over the scrapbook paper. You may choose to stop there, but I usually add one more layer just to be safe. 

When everything is completely dry, connect the letters with ribbon and add a loop to the top for hanging. Then all that's left to do is display your creation!

Pumpkin Decorating Ideas

If you are sick of carving pumpkins, this post is for you! Here are ten different ways to decorate pumpkins, without digging out the guts. Enjoy!

1. Glitter 

Apply glue to your pumpkin, let dry 30 seconds and sprinkle with glitter.

2. Buttons 

Glue buttons onto your pumpkin. Cover it, write a word, or create a silly face.

3. Rhinestones

Simply glue rhinestones to your pumpkin any way you'd like.

4. Chalkboard Paint

Make your pumpkin into a chalkboard for an endless drawing board.

5. Wire

Make words, spirals, or wrap your pumpkin up with some wire.

6. Carve-By-Color

A different way to carve your pumpkin to get a whole new look.

7. Lace

Wrap your pumpkin in lace for an elegant look.

8. Thumb Tacks

Cover your pumpkin in thumb tacks. Use metallic spray paint to finish it off.

9. Mummify

Use cheesecloth to mummify your pumpkin, then just add eyes.

10. Monogram

Personalize your pumpkin with your monogram. Or paint your house number on one for your front porch.

Ten Week Picture!

Lucy is 10 weeks old today, and it seems like the ten week mark is the terrible two's for puppies. She is similar to the energizer bunny, she just keeps going and going and going. AND she is into everything! This week she is weighing in at 11. 3 pounds and measuring 19 inches long. We had our first trip to the vet this week, and she was a trooper!

As this picture depicts, we had quite fun trying to get her to sit still this week.
