Monogrammed Wall

Over the years, I have kind of become obsessed with M's. I have slowly been collecting enough M's to fill one of the walls in our living room, and I am absolutely loving how great it has turned out!

I love all the different shapes, sizes and colors scattered across the wall, hung only in the order I have purchased the M's starting with the large center one and branching out on all sides.

My absolute favorite place to ind unique letters is TJ Maxx, so keep your eyes peeled if you are interested in doing something like this.

My absolute favorite place to find unique letters is TJ Maxx, so keep your eyes peeled if you are interested in doing something like this. In fact, my love for the letter "M" has gotten so bad I have to convince myself I have convinced myself I don't need anymore... until I see a new one at TJ.

The Creative Corner: October 18th

Happy Sunday!
It was a great couple of days of football around here this weekend.
My CMU Chippewas kicked butt on Saturday.
Then, came the Michigan vs. Michigan State game in which Michigan State won in the final 10 seconds of the game. GO Green!
And today, the Lions had their first victory of the season.

But enough about football already, it's time to party!

Fall Home Tour: 2015

I am so excited to be sharing my neutral fall living room with you today.

About a month ago, I decided to start decorating with more neutral colors. I set out to make a few small changes. Little by little I started adding neutrals into the room. I bought new pillows and I put up these wood floating shelves and before I knew it, this neutral living room came to life!
But I couldn't give up every bit of color in this room, so we decided on a blue entertainment center just to keep things interesting.

I tried to keep my neutral living room ideas in mind when decorating for fall, and I'd like to this it was a success!

Lucky me, I scored these adorable gold and white acorns in the dollar spot at Target this year, along with the burlap runners!

What do you think of the neutral decor?
It's a little different than my normal decorating style, but I gotta say I am loving this new look so, so much!

Crocheted Double V Stitch Blanket

This is the year-long crochet project that I thought would never end. But today I am happy to report... it is finally finished!

I started this blanket last fall with every intention to finish it. Then, my sister made a special request for this double sided shell blanket that she wanted me to make her for Christmas. Needless to say, it took every free moment I had to finish her blanket in time for Christmas, and then I became a little burnt out on making blankets. So as soon as the weather turned cold enough to crochet (below 70) this Fall, I kicked my butt in gear and got to work on finishing this beauty.

I am beyond excited with the final product! It is so warm & cozy and I am so thrilled to curl up on the couch with it each night.

CROCHETED DOUBLE V STITCH BLANKET PATTERN

SUPPLIES:
CHUNKY YARN (ABOUT 20 SKEINS... I HONESTLY DON'T REMEMBER)
I USED LION BRAND HOMETOWN USA IN ASPEN TWEED
SIZE N HOOK

CH IN MULTIPLES OF 6 UNTIL DESIRED WIDTH

ROW 1: (DC, CH2, DC) IN THE 6TH CH FROM HOOK (V STITCH MADE). *SKIP NEXT 2 CH, THEN (DC, CH2, DC) IN NEXT CH. REPEAT FROM * UNTIL LAST 3 CHAINS. SKIP 2 CH, DC IN LAST CH.

ROW 2: CH 3, TURN (DC, CH 2, DC) IN EACH CH 2 SPACE ACROSS. DC IN TOP OF TURNING CHAIN.

REPEAT ROW 2 UNTIL YOUR BLANKET IS YOUR DESIRED SIZE.

ADD FRINGE IF DESIRED.

While blankets are very time consuming to crochet, it is a great feeling of accomplishment every time I finish one! I've already got a few more patterns up my sleeve for the next one.

WHat is your favorite thing to crochet?
